How long have you worked at Little Angels Daycare Nursery?
I opened Little Angels in March 2004 and after 5 months of extensive renovation work we opened our doors for trading in August 2004. This has fulfilled my ambition which I have had from a young age of owning my own daycare nursery. I work alongside my team of staff to support our growth and development into a thriving environment for babies and young children.
All about me:
I have been together with my husband for 15 years and married to him for 8 years. We have two beautiful daughters who are 4 years old and 23 months old, both of whom bring us great pleasure. I have many roles within my day and work full time Monday – Thursday .
As a family we spend our weekends going on walks with our dog, entertaining friends and whenever the weather allows, going out on our boat to Herm, Sark or France.
I completed my NNEB diploma at ‘The Chiltern Training College’ in Reading and then gained some experience working as a Nanny and also at Busy Bee daycare nursery in Guernsey.
Working with children is a rewarding job and I feel very privileged to be working everyday doing something that I enjoy, unfortunately as a nursery manager circumstances dictate I have a lot more paper work to contend with which means I can not be as hands on with the children as I would like to be, but when not cooking the lunches or stuck in the office, I do ensure I get my ‘fix’ with the children whenever I can.
As nursery cook I make home made meals fresh everyday, following a menu that has huge variety. It can of course be adapted to meet individual needs. I really enjoy watching the children socialise at meal times and having empty plates!
Everyday the nursery brings new challenges and being proprietor of my own nursery I do find it very difficult to ever be able to switch off, but I wouldn’t swap it for the world!
